These Scarborough Hotspots Have Your Summer Holiday Feasting Sorted

By Maddie Wallman

20th Dec 2024

Though Scarborough is a firm favourite of locals, tourists and destination diners all year round, things kick up a notch when the Celsius rises.

By day, the magnetic metropolis cultivates that special, seaside ambience reserved for areas with endless ocean views. By night, the party vibes are strong in the otherwise laidback suburb, with countless bars and restaurants providing places to perch as you watch the sunset.

Of course, the beautiful beach is an obvious drawcard, but this summer, we’ll be heading to the horizon for seaside snacks, full-tilt feasts and cocktails, sans any sand between our toes. Here’s where you’ll find us eating breakfast, lunch and dinner in Scarborough.

Pack A Brekkie Picnic

Plate of food on table

Great news for early birds—breakfast has been rebooted in Scarbs. The coastal all-day diner Scarborough Beach Bar is now offering the most important meal of the day, serving up the full breakfast gamut from Thursday to Sunday.

From classic avocado toast for the health conscious to the calorific chicken waffles complete with maple gochujang and sour cream, the breakfast menu is complimented with a comprehensive drinks list of fresh juices, smoothies, teas and coffees. Get there early—the coffee machine is pouring potent espressos from 7 am—and nab one of the outdoor tables for some of the best views of the stunning Scarborough Beach.

Nursing a lethal hangover, too busy with work to make it out of the house or want to have a picnic down on the foreshore? Scarborough Beach Bar’s full brekkie menu is also available for takeaway and on UberEats.

Dig In To Bottomless Long Lunching

With a cup of Joe or two under your belt, it’s time to hit the hard stuff. Over on the Esplanade, The Peach Pit’s new and improved bottomless cocktail slushies offering will have you snacking on a generous selection of share plates for lunch while sipping on bottomless cocktail slushies and boozy acai. You read that right, the coveted Amazonian berry soft serve has had an adults-only makeover. Enjoying a low alc lifestyle? Don't worry, The Peach Pit are still swirling alcohol free acai with all your favourite seasonal toppings.

The two-hour $59 per person package also includes house wine, tap beers, and a wall of lollies for DIY garnishing. Available every day of the week from 1pm-3pm or 5pm-7pm, it's the beachside bottomless lunch that dreams are made of.

Split The G And Hit The Dancefloor

Further down the Esplanade, there’s a little slice of Ireland smack-bang in the middle of Scarborough. Delivering traditional Irish pub grub, Guinness pints, live music and more, The Galway Hooker is Scarborough’s pub-with-a-view that oozes the classic Irish charm.

There are food and drink specials every night of the week, including the highly regarded Sunday roasts, $20 Thursday steaks and $9.5 pints of Guinness from 5pm-6pm, Monday to Friday. This summer, you’ll also be able to catch the cricket, NBA, boxing and Grand Prix live and loud on one of the many big screens, and split the G’ to a soundtrack of live music—for two weeks over Chrissy and New Year’s, Perth’s best local musicians will be taking to the stage every night of the week.
