Daft Punk’s December 2007 Sydney show is the stuff of legend. Called Neverland, the mini-festival worked through a roll call of all the major local electronic music talent of the time (Cut Copy, The Presets, Van She, and Muscles), before Paris’ ultra-cool Ed Banger crew took to the stage (Busy P, SebastiAn, and Kavinsky). Then, Daft Punk’s neon pyramid lit up Sydney Showgrounds for the first and last time.
It’s a show punters still talk about (definitely to the irritation of anyone who wasn’t also there). And while Daft Punk officially called it quits in February this year, this weekend you’ll be able to relive a little of their robotic mythology when a massive Daft Punk tribute hits Home the Venue.
With dancing and club nights only recently back on the cards in Syd—"Discovery - Australia's Daft Punk Tribute Show" will be Sydney's first major club show in over 15 months. Featuring 25 local DJs, performers, gold and silver robot get-up, and all the vibes you need to float back to 2007, this is the kind of vibe we need to properly farewell the French electro icons.
Get ready to robot rock around the world one more time. Tickets are available here.
