CANESS

Set in a former Paddington grocer, CANESS is a cosy tapas bar by the team behind Shaffa combining the lively dining energy of the Middle East with a laid-back, no-frills approach to hospitality.

Dishes like traditional prawns saganaki with homemade feta and tomato sauce, and char-grilled octopus with herbs and capers salsa dressing grace the menu alongside smaller snacks like twists on the Gilda or mini pulled lamb brioche rolls. For dessert, their signature halva Basque cheesecake or grilled pineapple with vanilla, ginger, and pomegranate syrup do the trick. 

The cocktail menu leans into regional flair, with ten signature drinks focusing on vermouths and amaro. For Negroni lovers, try the Figroni: with gin, fig aperitif, Cynar and arak.

If you like to keep things interesting, the Clear Gazpacho is a milk-washed vodka paired with fino sherry, tomato, strawberry oleo, cucumber, vinegar and lemon. A real palate cleanser.
